While using insurance feels like the natural first step, choosing a private-pay therapist offers meaningful benefits that can make your healing journey smoother and more personalized:
Complete Privacy: Insurance requires a diagnosis and session notes to pay for your care. Paying privately ensures your personal mental health journey stays strictly between you and your therapist.
Care Tailored to You: Insurance companies dictate how many sessions you get and what type of therapy is "necessary." Private pay puts you in the driver's seat to choose the frequency, style, and duration of your care.
Finding the Right Match: Being restricted to in-network options can limit your choices. Expanding to private pay opens up a wider pool of specialists, so you don't have to compromise on the right fit for your personality and goals.
Transparent Pricing: High deductibles and surprise bills mean "covered" care isn't always cheap. Private pay gives you clear, predictable costs upfront.
Uninterrupted Support: Changing jobs or insurance plans can suddenly cut off your care. Paying privately keeps your therapeutic relationship steady and secure, no matter what happens with your employment or benefits.
-
Payment is accepted via cash, Zelle, Credit/Debit, HSA.
A Good Faith Estimate will be provided prior to your therapy.
-
A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) is a document that outlines the expected cost of your counseling services before you begin therapy. Under the No Surprises Act, healthcare providers must give clients who do not have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
Who it is for: Clients who are uninsured or self-pay (not using health insurance).
What it includes: The total expected cost of your scheduled therapy sessions and any related services.
Your rights: You have the right to receive this estimate at least one business day before your first session. If your final bill is $400 or more above your Good Faith Estimate, you can legally dispute the charges.
Note: The estimate is a prediction based on information known at the time, not a binding contract or final bill.

Coaching is goal-oriented and a plan of action is used.
This is a self-pay only option and is not covered by health insurance.
